Denver was the Hall of Fame's first to be inducted into the hall. He is now the international face of Colorado. In all my travels I have met many non-Colorado residents. Colorado. They will say, "Oh John Denver!" When they hear you are from Colorado. Brown declared. Take Me Home Country Roads, co-written by Bill Danoff and Denver after his brief career with folk bands, was Denver's debut Top 10 solo hit. Danoff wrote the track in the name of Johnny Cash but Denver recognized the song's potential the moment he heard it for the first time. The song was first recorded two weeks following the Washington D.C. performance.
